Orion Monaco Jean

Orion Jean is an 11-year old who, in July 2020, was selected as the National Kindness Speech Contest Winner. Upon winning, he created his own "Race to Kindness" events to help spread kindness around the world, including collecting 100,000 meals for food-insecure families, and collecting 500,000 books for kids in book deserts!

For leading this next generation by inspiring with kindness and action, TIME has named Orion 2022’s Kid of the Year.

We’re honored to welcome Orion, and his mom and dad, Kherri and McDonald, to chat about putting thoughts into action, parenting and the importance of teaching kindness and how a little gesture can go a long way.
